Membership Template Exporter (Older Version)

This page allows you to create an Excel template for use in preparing to upload a large batch of Membership records to the web site. Follow the steps below to prepare your membership data in an Excel file in the correct format for uploading to the Membership Site.

This feature is ONLY intended for schools that need to upload 100 or more members at once. If you have less than 100 members to upload, its much simpler and faster to just type each member's details into this web site. Go to Membership > My Sections, select a Section and manually key in your membership there if you have less than 100 members to register.

If you have more than 100 members and already have your membership data in another computer program and can export it and manipulate it into this Excel template for uploading, then carefully read and follow the instructions below.

Make sure your Sections are all complete on the site. Use Membership > My Sections on the menu above, and ensure that all your Sections (Training Programs) are created correctly there. Also, its easiest if you go ahead and enter details about your Advisors and any other Professional Members online at this time.

If you have existing Student members in your Section already, they will NOT be exported into this Excel file. You only need to include NEW Student members as you fill in the Excel file, as any existing members already on the site will remain. If you need to eliminate old members first, you can use the "Delete Graduates" button under each Section.

Click the "Create Excel" button at right to generate an Excel template file you can use to fill in details about all your membership. Be sure to save this file as an Excel file somewhere on your local PC so you can open and edit it. You must use File > Save AS and be sure to save the file as a Microsoft Excel file (any version), since your browser may try to save this as an HTML file by default, which will not work. Scroll down to see the Excel sample image below!

Open that saved Excel template file and insert/paste/load data on each of your Members. Simply replace the existing place-holder rows with valid data about your actual students. Be sure to leave the first FOUR (4) columns intact, as they contain the ID Number and name for your Chapter and each of your Sections. At the bottom of this page is a screen shot of how your Excel file should look once you've completed it with information. If you have an Excel file in any other format, we CANNOT load it.

Once you have completed your Excel file, email it to support@skillsusa-register.org and we will handle validating and uploading the information for you. When your file has been loaded to the site, we will send you an email reminder to go back online, double-check your Membership, and submit it to the National Office.

Once we upload your Excel file, you still need to go back online, verify the data and use the SUBMIT TO NATIONAL OFFICE button for each Section to actually SUBMIT your rosters. Do not forget this step, or your membership will not be complete.
